In view of the attempted murders of two Jews this week in Hamburg and Preussisch-Holland, the Presidium of the Central Union of German Citizens of the Jewish Faith has decided to make immediate and urgent representations to the Federal and State authorities to make energetic use of their powers to prevent further such outrages. These attempted assassinations, desecrations of cemeteries and insults of the most vicious character levelled against Jews and Judaism are the result of a systematic campaign conducted by the antisemitic Hitlerists in the press and at public meetings, which has no claim to the title of political propaganda, the resolution adopted says. A number of mass meetings are being organised to enlighten public opinion of the dangers of this campaign of incitement to anti-Jewish violence upon the general and political life of Germany as a whole.
