Erich Lueth, initiator of the “Peace with Israel” movement in Germany, has presented the welfare office of the Central Council of the Jewish Communities of Germany with 10,000 deutschemarks. The money represents the proceeds of an “olive tree” campaign which was designed to help the victims of Nazism who are still resident in Germany.
A house-to-house collection and street canvass under the slogan of “Conciliation With the Jews,” was started this week in the southern German town of Tuebingen. All political and non-political youth movements of the town are participating in the drive.
