A spokesman for Interior Minister Paul Luecke said today that the Minister did not intend to take action to ban the extremist National Democratic Party. Such action has been demanded by Jewish organizations in many countries since the NDP won parliamentary seats for the first time in elections in November in Hesse and Bavaria.
The spokesman quoted the Minister as saying that “the democratic forces of our people are strong enough to deal with these elements.” Dr. Luecke previously had described the NDP as “neo-Nazi.”
