German-jewish Press Criticizes Attacks on U.S. “intervention”

Continuing the discussion regarding the representations made in the United States to the German ambassador, Baron von Prittwitz, by American Jews over the schechita ban in Bavaria and the desecration of Jewish cemeteries, the Jewish press here, particularly the “Frankfurter Israelite,” remarks that “we are opposed to making opposition to German anti-Semitism an international world concern, because we trust the sound sense of the German nation.

“German Jewry is strong enough to protect their rights but after what has happened, we desire the American action to be effective.”

The organ of the Central Association of German Citizens of the Jewish faith condemns the abuse in the anti-Semitic press because of American “intervention,” saying that the National Socialists “created in Germany conditions which cause concern abroad but they are surprised when the reaction abroad becomes evident.”
