The reparations talks between Germany and Israel as well as between Germany and the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany will conclude this week, it was indicated here today. Members of the Israeli and Conference delegations have made arrangements to return home this Friday.
It is understood that Germany will pay to Israel $822,000,000 in materials, pre-fabricated houses and machines over a period of 12 years. Israel will transmit $107,000,000 to the Conference. The text of the agreements will have to be approved by the German and Israel Foreign Ministers, and by the presidium of the Conference. The pacts will then have to be ratified by the German Parliament.
The formal signing of the agreements will probably not take place for about two months. The Germans are asking that the signing ceremony should take place in Bonn, however, the Jewish delegates are not willing to accept this suggestion.
