The Central Council of Jews of Germany today protested plans to stay the execution of 20-odd Nazi war criminals who were condemned by an American court over a year ago and have since been imprisoned in Landenberg prison. Pointing out that the American authorities themselves have condemned the imprisoned men as mass murderers, the Council statement said that they “have no right to mercy.”

Karl Rohl, one-time cook at the Mauthausen death camp, has been extradited to France to stand trial as a Nazi war criminal, it was reported here today. The American authorities announced that Rohl is accused of murdering inmates of the camp, including French nationals.
