The local group of the Central Union of German Citizens of the Jewish Faith in the district of Frankenstein has sent cut an official communique to all the newspapers in the province of Silesia, declaring that the German Jews have nothing in common with the foreign Jews who are buying currency under the rate of exchange, and that they will be heartily glad if the Public Prosecutor will treat these elements in the way they deserve as undesirable alien.
One of the anti-Semitic organs, the “Volksbote”, which appears in Sterile, adds a footnote to the communique in which it says that the German Jews are mistaken if they think to save themselves by deserting their foreign brethren and vilifying them in the German Press.
A Jewish reader, writing to the Democratic weekly, the “Welt-am-Montag”, complains that the Union of Jewish Ex-Soldiers has written to the anti-Semitic daily in Bruhn denouncing the East European Jews as harmful elements and boasting of the control exercised by the Union in prohibiting certain kindsof Jews from visiting the German health resorts. The “Welt-am-Montag” in an editorial on the subject, vigorously condemns the Union of Jewish Ex-Soldiers for its “cowardly attitude”, and concludes. “There are some Jews any one of whom we could cutup into ten anti-Semites.”
