A declaration supporting enemies of Hitler and the Nazi Party and asserting that Hitler did not represent the majority of Germans was issued today by the German Labor Delegation, American organization of the former Social Democratic Party in the Reich. It was signed by Albert Grzynski, president; Dr. Rudolf Katz, secretary; and others.
At the same time, Warner Brothers Pictures, Inc., in its reply to Fritz Kuhn’s $5,000,000 damage suit arising from the linking of the German-American Bund to the German Government in the picture “Confessions of a Nazi Spy.,” asserted; “The Bund and its members are active militant propagandists of Nazi ideology, and endorse and actively support and would plant and propagate in the United States the undemocratic principles of Adolf Hitler, and are, therefore, disloyal to the United States and abuse the rights and privileges of their American citizenship.”
Westbrook Pegler, in his New York World-Telegram column today, called Kuhn “the best anti Nazi propagandist in the United States.” Pegler said: “He is, by paradox, the greatest single force against Hitlerism now operating among us. If he is dangerous at all it is only because his insolence might goad this country into active participation in the war against the loathsomeness of which he is a worthy spokesman.”
