Two Jewish employes of the London subsidiary of a German recording company have been fired from their jobs as a result of ban on Jewish personnel and artists imposed by a new manager who recently arrived from Germany, newspaper.
The report said the new ban was imposed by Karl Buchweitz who, it said, “according to reports, was a former S. S. officer,”and the two Jewish employes, both discharged from posts in the public relations branch, are Monte Mitelman and Paul Rogers. Buchweitz came to London recently to head the Heliodor Record Co., a subsidiary of the Deutsche Grammophon group. The dispatch added that Buchweitz, who has had only limited experience in the recording industry, was sent to Britain by the Siemens organization, which controls Deutsche Grammophon.
