Nationalist Charged Jewish Official With Unloyal Indiscretion (Jewish Telegraphic Agency)
One of the leaders of the German anti-Semites, a member of the federal government, will have to make a public apology to his Jewish colleague, according to a decision of the Reichsrat.
The Reichsrat took up the incident between Keudell, a member of the Deutschnazionale party and minister in the federal government, who accused Hermann Badt, ministerial director in the Prussian government and member of the Reichsrat, of having been indiscreet in making public the proceedings of a secret session of the Reichsrat. Keudell asserted that Badt had committed this indiscretion in order to compromise the German government.
The Reichsrat unanimously decided that Keudell’s accusation was without foundation and that he owes an apology to Badt. The newspapers in commenting upon this decision declare it is Keudell’s moral defeat and demand his resignation.
