December 7 will be a great day in the history of Germany and may decide the future course of the German Republic. On that day the new elections for the Reichstag will take place, according to the decision of the Federal Cabinet. Elections to the Bavarian legislature, the Prussian legislature, and the municipal and provincial legislative bodies in Prussia, Bavaria, Thuringia and several other German states will also take place on the same day. There is even a possibility that if President Ebert resigns, the new presidential elections will also take place on that day.
After the acceptance of the Dawes plan, the general election in Germany will be fought on the cardinal question: What the German Reich is to be in the future, republican or monarchistic. Republicans and monarchists alike are already very active preparing their party platforms and campaign slogans. From all indications, this fight will be carried to the greatest extremes. As always, since the collapse of the German Empire, it is stated here, the new elections bring a new wave of anti-Semitic propaganda and the Jewish question will be made one of the issues of the campaign.
In connection with the approaching election campaign, the Hitler-Ludendorff party issued a manifesto today in which it states that the party will fight for the liberation of Germany from the domination of Jewish and French capitalists.
