The controversy over the definition of “German origin” was cleared up in a letter to the Vossische Zcitung from the ministry of justice in which it is explained that “gleichblutige” or other races similar to the German must be treated equally with the German. The conception of “fremdstaemmige” or foreign descent, is applicable only to Jews, since there are almost no Negroes or Mongols in Germany. The definition is expected to be embodied in a law to be published soon.
