The first part of a printing of 50,000 High Holy Day prayer books, which are being produced in German printing plants, came off the press today, according to an announcement from the local office of the Joint Distribution Committee. They will be distributed chiefly among Jews in DP camps.
The JDC also reported that 15,000 prayer shawls are being manufactured in Germany in preparation for Rosh Hashanah. With the aid of the Army, JDC is attempting to procure special allocations of honey and meat for distribution among the displaced Jews during the holidays.
