The Protestant Assistance Association announced plans today to build a Home for the Aged in West Berlin exclusively for person persecuted for racial reasons by the Nazi regime.
Theodor Heuss, president of the West German Republic, and Dr. Eugen Gerstenmair, president of the Bonn Bundestag, each contributed a room for the projected Home. The room contributed by President Heuss will bear the name of Otto Hirsch, one-time president of the Union of Jews in Germany, who was murdered in the Mauthausen concentration camp.
