German newspapers advised Jews today not to display the blue-white Zionist flag, although this is the only emblem they are permitted to fly under the Nuremberg “ghetto laws.” The papers warned that displaying the Zionist flag might lead to disturbances.
A warning to Jews not to deal in toys bearing the swastika emblem or to sell postcards depicting Nazi scenes and leaders was sounded by the press, which added that the advice was given for “the benefit of the Jews.”
The papers advised police that any policeman was authorized to prohibit Jewish shops from displaying such toys on the ground that it might cause public disturbances through the inciting of German youths.
