German Press Bureau Gives Luncheon for Landau

A luncheon in honor of Jacob Landau, managing director of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency who is on a visit here was given by Herr Zechlin, head of the press bureau of the German government.

Baron Herbert Richthofen, director of the press department of the Foreign Office; Embassy Counsellor Thomson, Chief of the American press department; Legationsrat Moritz Sobernheim chief of the Jewish department of the Foreign Office; Herr Leo Simon and other prominent personages were present.

Mr. Landau was previously received by the American Ambassador, Jacob Gould Schurman.

Plans for the organization of the 1928 campaign for the United Jewish Appeal in the territory comprising southern New York state and northern Pennsylvania were formulated at a conference held at Elmira, New York.

George Danzig of Elmira was chosen campaign chairman.
