German Prosecutor Seeks 8-year Sentence for Murderer of 8,000 Jews

The prosecution demanded today sentences for two former SS officers being tried here on charges of participation in the wartime murder of 8,000 Jews.

A sentence of eight years at hard labor was demanded for Friedrich Pradel, who was charged with responsibility for introducing gas vans into procedures for killing Jews, first in Serbia and then in the Soviet Union. A sentence of three and a half years was demanded for Henry Wentritt, Pradel’s aide.
