An official of the Frankfurt prosecution office will attend the trial of Adolf Eichmann in Israel, Hessian State Attorney General Fritz Bauer announced here today. Since 1956, the Frankfurt prosecution office has been in charge of investigations concerning Eichmann, Auschwitz, the deportation of Hungarian Jews and executions carried out by the SS-Einsatz-Commandoes.
Another legal observer will also be sent to the Eichmann trial by the Central War Crimes Investigation Commission, in Stuttgart-Ludwigsburg, This commission was created two years ago to coordinate and accelerate war crimes investigations.
