Hans Robert Kremer, former publisher of the neo-Nazi newspaper, Die Anklage, was sentenced this week-end to a two-year jail term for hate-mongering against Jews and ridiculing the democratic West German state.
He was indicted on a number of charges, including one that he had written and published a statement that “the German people know that the claim of 6,000,000 murdered Jews is a propaganda device.” The co-plaintiffs in the charges against the 40-year-old newspaperman, whose newspaper was banned by the West German Government in 1957, were the Central Council of Jews in Germany and Dr. Eugen Gerstenmaier, president of the Bundestag, the lower house of the Bonn Parliament.
