The executive of the Social Democratic Party today passed a resolution protesting against the showing in Germany of films produced by Veit Harlan, anti-Semitic producer of the notorious Nazi film “Jud Suess.” The resolution also protested the anti-Semitic demonstrations which occurred in several German cities recently when Harlan’s films were shown.
The executive voiced a demand for an immediate investigation to establish the imitators of the anti-Semitic demonstrations. It also asked for an investigation of the behavior of the police who “either failed to intervene or took the wrong side.”
“The Social Democratic Party Appeals to all men of good will to fight against anti-Semitism, “the resolution said. “Those who tolerate anti-Semitism soil the honor and the name both of Germany and humanity,” it emphasized.
