A meeting of the German-American Conference widely reported to have been scheduled for last night was not held, according to Hans Froehlich, president of the Conference.
When asked about the reported meeting yesterday, Froehlich said, “What meeting? I don’t know of any meeting scheduled for tonight or any other night.”
It is understood that the purpose of the meeting was to have the Conference, which represents almost every German-American society in the city, go on record as being in favor of the DAWA, anti-Jewish boycott organization of Yorkville Nazis.
