Tribute will be paid to Prof. Sigmund Freud, whose works were banned under the Nazi regime and who fled to London when the Nazis came to power, by the Universities of Frankfurt and Heidelberg on the occasion of the centenary of his birth next month, it was announced today.
Special lectures on Dr. Freud will be arranged by the two universities and will be delivered by outstanding American, British and Swiss scholars in the field of psychoanalysis. The program is designed to acquaint interested German intellectuals with recent developments in the theory and practice of psychoanalysis, whose teachings were black-listed under the Nazis and which even today has not regained the place in the realm of German science that it occupies in most other Western countries.
