The stoppage of Jewish immigration to Palestine is thoroughly opposed to the spirit of the Mandate, according to a protest resolution adopted yesterday at a conference of the National Executive of the German Zionist Organization.
The resolution also points out that the decision of the British authorities to stop immigration to Palestine is contrary to the needs of the country. The fact that the Palestine government had already issued the immigration certificates which have now been rescinded, says the resolution, shows that Palestine is able to absorb more immigrants.
A proposal by a representative of the Revisionists that the German Zionist Executive demand the convocation of a special Zionist Congress was voted down.
At the meeting special committees were appointed for the purpose of fighting German anti-Semitism as well as for helping German Jewry in the present economic crisis.
