The state prosecution in Nuremberg has charged three members of a local rock band with circulating unlawful neo-Nazi symbols and propaganda and with inciting to racial discrimination.
The state lawyers took aim at a song labeled “Hakenkreutz” (Swastika), performed by an extreme right-wing band called Radikahl (Radical).
According to the prosecution, the defendants may face up to three years in prison if found guilty by a court. The wording of one of the band’s songs reads, for example: “Be proud of your race and of your swastika.”
In recent concerts the band has reportedly called on its followers “to go hunting Jews.” The band describes its mission as “an ongoing campaign to save Germany.”
