The extradition of Nazis who have fled to sanctuary in Argentina will be one of the topics to be discussed with President Arturo Frondizi of that country during his current visit to West Germany.
Dr. Fritz Schaffer, West German Minister of Justice, made the announcement in the Bundestag last night as questioning of the Government’s policy by the opposition Social Democrats continued.
Dr. Schaffer asserted that the West German Government would immediately ask for the extradition of Nazi criminal Adolf Eichmann if Israel would return him to Argentina. He pointed out that Argentine authorities had explicitly rejected one West German request for extradition of a wanted Nazi criminal and that in other cases, the Nazis could not be found in Argentina, having left the country before the Argentine Government reached a decision on the West German requests.
