Germany is covering up the rising cost of a long-planned Holocaust memorial, said a member of the country’s Parliament. Gunter Nooke, a member of the conservative Christian Democratic Union, said the memorial would cost more than $22 million, far above the initial estimate. But a German parliamentary official denied the cover-up charge.
