A central card index of all persons who filed indemnification claims in the various states of West Germany or in West Berlin has been moved to this city from Munich, where it was established in 1950 as a safeguard against duplicate applications. The index, which is estimated to contain upwards of 600,000 names, will in the future be a responsibility of the State Statistical Office of North Rhine-Westphalia.
