By the end of last year, Israel’s orders for industrial equipment within the framework of the West German reparations pact had reached $50, 000, 000. Of this amount, $35, 300, 000 worth of machinery had been delivered to Israel, Dr. F. Shinnar, head of the Israeli company which handles reparations orders, announced today.
The equipment which reached Israel has been distributed among 1,147 different enterprises, he revealed. A total of 420 of these Israeli firms were small business enterprises, each purchasing less than $5, 000 worth of machinery.
