The Nazi secret police, Gestapo, have taken up all passports held by Jews in Nuremberg, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency learned today. The police notified the Jews that they were not to leave Germany without a special permit signed by the Gestapo.
Jewish residents of that city, of which Julius Streicher, Germany’s foremost Jew-baiter, is boss, were told that if they wished to go abroad they would receive special passports stamped with the statement that if they remain abroad longer than three months they would not be allowed to reenter Germany.
The stamped inscription further provides that the Jews leave Germany through a border station designated by the Gestapo and return the same way. Furthermore, they will not be permitted to visit countries not included on an itinerary approved by the Gestapo and inscribed on their passports.
