The Polish government today reported that the German authorities in Poland massacred 15,000 Jews at the end of last month when they liquidated the Majdanek concentration camp. Other Jews in the camp were sent to work in German war factories in Cracow and are now held in barracks outside the city.
Polish-Jewish circles here today received a report from underground Poland stating that the German authorities have announced a 500-Zloty award, together with the clothes and shoes of the victim, for anyone giving information concerning the whereabouts of Jews who escaped from ghettos and are hiding in the woods and in villages. The same report says that about 4,000 Wlodawa Jews were executed by the Gestapo in the Solibar concentration camp recently.
