SEGREGATION WAS EXTENDED TODAY TO THE COLLEGE OF COMMERCE AND BENCHES WERE ASSIGNED IN A MANNER TO PREVENT SOCIALIST AND DEMOCRATIC STUDENTS FROM JOINING THE JEWS. A “GHETTO” IN THE LABORATORY OF THE WARSAW UNIVERSITY MEDICAL FACULTY WAS ALSO INTRODUCED, UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF A SPECIAL INSTRUCTOR.

JEWS REFUSED TO OCCUPY THE SPECIALLY-STAMPED SEATS ON THE LEFT SIDE OF CLASSROOMS, AND A NUMBER OF POLISH SOCIALIST STUDENTS DEMONSTRATIVELY JOINED THEM IN STANDING DURING LECTURES.

THE RECTOR OF WARSAW UNIVERSITY REFUSED TO RECEIVE A DELEGATION OF JEWISH STUDENTS WHO CALLED TO PROTEST THE SEGREGATION ORDER, GIVING AS HIS REASON THAT HIS ROOM WAS BEING REDECORATED AND HE HAD NO PLACE IN WHICH TO SEE THE DELEGATION.

THE WILNO NEWSPAPER, SLOWO, IN AN ARTICLE ON THE JEWISH EDUCATION PROBLEM, PROPOSED ESTABLISHMENT OF A COMPLETELY SEPARATE JEWISH SCHOOL SYSTEM, FROM ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TO UNIVERSITY. THE PROPOSAL, MADE ON “PEDAGOGICAL GROUNDS,” WAS WARMLY SUPPORTED BY ABC, ANTI-SEMITIC DAILY.
