Memorial services and special meetings were held in honor of the Warsaw Ghetto martyrs today throughout Rumania. A mass meeting in Bucharest was addressed by representatives of all Rumanian Jewish organization. Speakers at the rally, in stressing the importance of the Ghetto uprising, criticized the Western Powers for sheltering Polish and German “reactionary elements” and protested the mild treatment accorded Nazi war criminals in the American and British zones of Germany. The speakers also appealed for support of the Jews fighting in Palestine, whom they paralleled to the Ghetto heroes.
