THE FIRST INSTANCE OF SEGREGATION OF JEWS IN A RUMANIAN SCHOOL, ON THE POLISH MODEL, WAS RECORDED HERE TODAY WHEN PROF. CORNELIUS CASSASOVICI, OF THE BUCHAREST TECHNICAL ACADEMY, ORDERED JEWISH STUDENTS TO OCCUPY SPECIAL SEATS IN THE LECTURE HALL. THE ORDER DOES NOT APPLY TO MEMBERS OF OTHER NATIONAL MINORITIES, SUCH AS HUNGARIANS, RUSSIANS AND GERMANS.
THE UNION OF RUMANIAN JEWS PROTESTED THAT THE MEASURE WAS CONTRARY TO THE RUMANIAN CONSTITUTION AND THE PROGRAM OF THE GOVERNMENT AND THE LIBERAL PARTY, IN TELEGRAMS TO PREMIER GEORG TATARESCU AND OTHER POLITICAL LEADERS.
