The well-known girls’ choir of the Northwest German Radio network has added some 30 Jewish melodies, both traditional melodies and songs of the new Israel, to its repertoire which already includes half a dozen languages.

The 70 German girls can now provide musical accompaniment to the programs of the weekly quarter-hour series of the Northwest German Radio, “From the World of Judaism.” They were taught the Hebrew words and melodies by the Rev. G. Singer, who was until the flight of Jewish communal leaders from East Germany early last year president of the Erfurt community and since that time cantor of the Hamburg community.
