Fritz Gissibl was installed as the new leader for the Middle West by the Friends of New Germany at a grand district rally here.
Observers saw in this move a bid for revived interest in Nazi activities in this section, which recently have fallen into the doldrums.
Gissibl, whose original Nazi operations were carried on in Chicago, was called to New York about a year ago to head the Friends’ national organization work.
Speakers at the meeting which selected him as new Middle West chieftain hailed his return here as “a sign of rejuvenation by the group.”
