Informed Nazi sources admitted tonight that Marshal Hermann Goering’s decree ordering all German Jews to list their fortunes and property, if their value exceeds 5,000 marks ($2,000), was designed to speed the “Aryanization” of industry and business, but flatly denied that “confiscation” of this property was planned.
Germany, it was said, expects certain difficulties and even protests from foreign governments regarding the order compelling foreign Jews to declare their property in the Reich. No indication was given, however, as to any possible modification of Goering’s decree in this connection.
