Golda Myerson, Israel’s Minister of Labor, today urged American Jewish women to throw their full support behind the efforts of the State of Israel to develop its economy. Addressing the national board of the Pioneer Women, the women’s Labor Zionist organization, Mrs. Myerson pointed out that the greatest need of Israel is dollars for the purchase of supplies to develop the water and other resources of the Negev.
Meanwhile, the Mizrachi Women’s Organization of America yesterday inarched Israel’s fifth Independence Day at ceremonies highlighted by the announcement of the dedication of a new vocational high school for girls in Jerusalem. The school, named for Esther and David Shapiro, is the latest addition to the social service and educational network maintained by the Mizrachi Women in Israel.
