Former U.S. Supreme Court Justice Arthur J. Goldberg will serve as chairman of the Histadrut golden jubilee committee, it was announced by Leon H. Keyserling, president of the National Committee for Labor Israel. The jubilee committee will direct a year-long observance of the 50th anniversary of Histadrut, Israel’s labor federation. The jubilee program will be launched officially at the annual convention of the National Committee for Labor Israel on the Thanksgiving weekend. Speakers will include Israel’s Ambassador to the U.S., Gen. Yitzhak Rabin; John F. Henning, former U.S. ambassador to New Zealand; Avraham Harman, president of Hebrew University; Lane Kirland, secretary-treasurer of the AFL-CIO; Prof. Dov Sadan of Hebrew U.; Louis Stulberg, president of the International Ladies’ Garment Workers Union; and Mr. Keyserling, an economist.
