Dr. Nahum Goldmann, president of the World Zionist Organization, proposed today that the Israel Government call a world conference of Jewish leaders to clarify its attitude toward Jewish communities in other countries.
He made the proposal at the conference of the World Union of Zionist Socialist Parties. He also asked the Government to support the creation of a world Jewish organization to promote Jewish affairs in other Jewish communities.
Dr. Goldmann said the tragic situation caused by the Nazi slaughter of European Jewry had brought about a lack of Jewish leadership and that the leadership which remained was wasted in a variety of split organizations throughout the world.
