Robert Goldschmidt, son of the owner of the famous Brussels banking house, died today in Nice as the result of an overdose of a sleeping potion. He was 57 years old.
Mr. Goldschmidt was an intimate friend of King Albert of Belgium, with whom he collaborated on a number of State projects. He was also an inventor and a scientist. The Belgian government has sent a message of condolence to his family.
