Professor Alfons Goldschmidt, exiled German scholar, will be the principal speaker at the eighth annual convention of the Metropolitan League of Jewish Community Centers and Y.M.H.A.’s which will convene in the Buttenweiser Hall of the Ninety-second Street Y.M.H.A., at Lexington avenue, this Thursday.
A variety of viewpoints on the community will be presented by such authorities as M. Maldwin Fertig, Commissioner of Public Welfare William Hodson, Harry L. Glucksman, executive director of the National Jewish Welfare Board; President Frank L. Weill of the Ninety-second Street “Y”; Ruth F. Weinberg, vice-president of the Bronx House, and Arthur Cohn.
Officers of the Metropolitan League include Mr. Fertig, president; Mrs. Jerome J. Hanauer, Leon Mann, Harry M. Marks and Isaac Siegel, vice-presidents; Hugo H. Piesen, treasurer; Milton Weill secretary; E. J. Landow, field secretary.
