Dr. Israel Goldstein, former American Jewish leader who settled in Israel, declared here that “absorptive capacity is man-made and the people of Israel are resolved to make room within the present boundaries for all who need and want to come.”
Addressing 500 members of New York Jewish organizations at the 22nd annual Freedom Luncheon of the United Jewish Appeal’s Council of Organizations here, Dr. Goldstein said that one of the most dramatic events in Israel now “is the planning of new towns and settlements in different parts of the country, ” Dr. Goldstein is on a visit here as world chairman of Keren Hayesod, the financial arm of the Jewish Agency.
