Gordon Clapp, Head of U.N. Economic Survey Mission, Calls on Bevin in London

Gordon R. Clapp, head of the U.N. Economic Survey Mission for the Middle East, who is an route home to the United States, today called on British Foreign Secretary Ernest Bevin. He was accompanied by Raymond Hare, of the State Department.

The British Zionist Federation executive adopted a resolution deploring the United Nations decision providing for the internationalization of Jerusalem and pledging support to the Jews of Jerusalem to retain the new city as an integral part of Israel. Britain’s position on the Jerusalem issue during the U.N. deliberations was lauded.
