Israel’s Chief Rabbi Shlomo Goren stirred a record audience from all over South Africa with his keynote address to delegates to the Federation of Synagogue’s Conference taking place here this weekend. Rabbi Goren said that in attempting to capture Dr. George Habash, leader of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, and other terrorist leaders believed to have been aboard the Lebanese airliner that was intercepted by Israel on Aug. 10, Israel was acting not only in her own defense but helping to protect the world against air terrorism.
FLASH: The ICAO council in Montreal condemned Israel for intercepting the Lebanese airliner and recommended the ICAO take similar action when it meets Aug. 28 in Rome.
