Dr. Joshua Gottlieb, candidate of Group “B” General Zionists in the Sejm elections here, was defeated, it was unofficially announced today.
Former Deputy Waslaw Wislicki, candidate of the Jewish Merchants’ Association, won the mandate. The second mandate in the Jewish quarter went to a Christian, Francisze Urbanski.
The election returns from the provinces do not change the results previously announced. Only four Jews have been elected to the Sejm out of a total of 208 deputies named in Sunday’s elections.
The previous Sejm, before the new election laws were passed, had 444 deputies, of whom 9 were Jews.
