Gov. Nelson A. Rockefeller issued a message of “cordial holiday greetings” today to the Jewish people of New York State on the occasion of Chanukah. He said “the Festival of Lights recalls one of the most brilliant period in Israelite history” and noted that “the Joyous holiday commemorates the ancient Jewish right of freedom of worship, the right which we all enjoy today.”
