The convention of the Canadian Congress of Labor has unanimously adopted a resolution asking the government to legislate the banning of discrimination in industry on the basis of race or religion.

The convention also heard a plea for greater racial tolerance and better relations between Canadian groups regardless of their race or religion. The plea was made by Michael Rubinstein, national chairman of the Jewish Labor Committee in Canada, who said that “while Canada is largely free from racial bigotry and discrimination there were some instances of these conditions.”
