Protracted negotiations between the Israel Government and the physicians it employs, which had involved slowdowns and even strikes by the physicians, ended here this week-end with the signing of an agreement by Minister of Communications Zalman Aranne, representing the government, and Dr. I. Avigdor, of the medical association.

Under the new agreement, physicians employed by the government will receive higher salaries, according to a schedule fixed previously by a Knesset committee. The physicians immediately returned to their normal work schedule.
