An allotment for Passover relief to the Jewish population in the famine-stricken region of Bessarabia was made by the Roumanian government.

The amount of 1,000,000 Lei was assigned to provide matzoth. The funds will be transmitted through the local prefects, although the distribution will be intrusted to the local Jewish communities.

An order issued today by the Ministry of War granted an eight-day furlough for Jewish soldiers in the Roumanian army, during the Passover holiday. The men will be allotted funds equivalent to the cost of their food in the army during this period.
