Government-employed lawyers, as well as legal advisers in most Ministries, today proclaimed a 24-hour “warning strike” in protest against the unsatisfactory grading system now in effect and the present pay scales. Negotiations for amelioration of this situation have been going on for two years, the strikers announced.

As a result, all legal cases in which the government attorneys’ presence was required in court were postponed. One afternoon paper reported that the personal intervention of Premier David Ben Gurion failed to prevent carrying out of the strike.
